Mcquay Belts

Have Mcquay unit that is eating belts,does not break them. The belts become brittle after about two months running. Insatlled two units smae time only one is having this problem.
Anybody have similiar problem.

If the belts are brittle then they are over-heating.
a possible cause is a loose belt slipping under stalled load or when starting. If the sheaves are clean, properly lined up and adjusted and the belts are tensioned properly
you may want to look at the way the fan starts (across the line, on a drive, short cycling,etc).

Was there today, did what you said, found motor way out of alignment. Well that goes for Mcquay guru who started it up.

Them factory startup guys just come out there and flip the switch. Up to you to get everything ready and fixed prior to there arrival!
