We just threw this in last week.

NOTE: The Septic alarm and wiring, the well tank and it's piping, the Drainage, and the water heater are NOT my doing.:(

More later...

This is a 69K serving two zones of baseboard in a modular home.

The water is heated by an electric water heater. Because it came with the home.

Hehe. Why NOT?:D

It was the best place, considering the lack of space. The pumps are on the correct side of it, you'll note.

We are REAL crammed in there, I mean, it was tight with a capital "T". I get the impression that a boiler was an afterthought here, and judging by when I got asked to do it, in relation to the time in which we did it, I'm pretty close to the mark with that assumption.

Never used a spirovent, but the next one we're going to try one. (Next one might be a year away, but I promise, the next one will have a spirovent...) It'll also have those sexy B&G Isochecks. ;) The Webstones weren't available for a few days, so I just decided on the BVs...

Far out! Years ago I was a heatway rep. Did many a multi-zone, multi-temp/floor warming/passive-solar/snow melt, radiant systems. Hope I can find my pictures to scan. Good work!

Thanks, man.

The more good jobs here the merrier. The wall of shame is fun for awhile, but gets depressing after awhile...

P.S. soooo glad I moved down south and don't have to do the crew-cut in the winter for easy soot removal anymore!!!!
You still burning off soaked refractory in front yards at 2 a.m.?

condenseddave
10-06-2004, 09:40 PM
Only if I can't talk someone else into it.

How'd you know about my crew cut????:D

Actually, it's not so bad. Most of hat I do is commercial refrigeration.

I don't do a lot of residential oil service anymore. I'd like to do more, but finding decent oil techs that are willing to leave where they are is more difficult than it sounds.

The sad part is, I really miss it! That and pheasants, and ice fishing! (there "IS" something wrong with me)

How about this one: "I only reset the stack switch once, then I called a qualified serviceman, just like the label said"

3 inches of oil later, the real story begins.

Hell or high water, I'll find my heatway pics.

Somewhere in this place, I posted the story of a very young condenseddave getting chased across the floor of a basement by a boiler that had only been reset "once".

sending this one, and signing off. Found this site because of the "wall of shame" You are right, became depressing quick, looked like all the jobs i have lost!

Trying to avoid that site, but it is still funny.
(until it effects our checks!)

This is my last one for tonight. "Yes" I too, have separated ductwork (lost an eyebrow, half a moustache, etc)

You ever followed up on an installation crew (usually in the middle of the night) that had no clue what a tempering valve was on a lochinvar or raypak? Now this is fun!

I was in your shoes as an owner!

Dave,
Found many more pics, going to deer camp tomorrow, will return sometime next week. Man, boilers rule!
I'll post a couple of pictures. I'll say it again, your boiler work is outstanding!!!!
Dave, I work for Carrier. (not by choice, I'll explain later)
Sorry about the text in my convoluted replys, the wife and I just got on line!
P.S. Ask me about draft horses or drahthaars, I converse well on these subjects!
If you don't know what a drahthaar is, look it up!

condenseddave
10-13-2004, 08:56 PM
I know what a drathhaar is, are you owned by one?

condenseddave

Sorry to hear about the Carrier thing. Who'd you piss off?:D

condenseddave

In the next week or so.

That'll be picture worthy, too.

Owned by three! two left, mama passed at 13.Still have her 2 babies(10 years old). Still have a vase full of tail feathers. Tying and catching trout with em! Don't tell me one owns you too! You hit my soft spot, here goes;
re; Carrier, moved to Arkansas 5 years ago, worked at the nuke plant for 4 years as the hvac sup. (L.U 155) Quit the day that Entergy offered my a job as an Entergy employee over being a Union contractor. Went to work as a mechanic for the largest contractor in the state. Things were going good until Carrier bought us in August. What do you think of York? Carrier sucks!

condenseddave

You can't be all bad if you're a fly tyer.

I've tied thousands since I was five. I'll have to photo them one of these days.

My black lab is retired, BTW.

I have a friend that hunts with a drahthaar.

There are York techs on this site that seem to like it.

RichardL has been with them for quite some time, I belive. Very knowledgeable guy. He's often spotted in the Comm HVAC forum.
