Trane Evaporator Sight Glass

I am in the middle of a overhaul on a trane CVHA025 (sidewinder). I have removed the sight glass on the evap barrel to change it. I would like to run a tap on the threads as they are very rusty. What are the specs of the tap that I need? It seems to be slightly larger than 2"
