Actually I made a very good hourly wage. Just changed jobs cause I should have been a Journeyman years ago.
Now I have that oppurtunity.
Pay is based on experience.
I don't do the hiring.

Sounds like a good job for a self-motivated young guy that is learning the business. Lots of exposure to various equipment without the boss looking over your shoulder. I would ask if phone tech support is available before I took the job...

If I were that young guy (which I used to be), I would look at the job... however: I probably am older than the boss... :eek2:

Not a title issue. I worked alone. Did not have to go into the office everyday.
Office is in St.Louis.
I made my own schedule. Just given a list of work to do and I got it done my way.

i sent my resume to that company a few weeks or so ago.
i got the ever so popular response "we are only looking for techs with 5+ years of experience" lol

i would seriously like to know where all these people get their "5+ years of experience" to begin with around here because that is pretty much what every hvac company i've inquired to has told me lol.

i have a few leads going at industrial plants right now that might work out for me because that's where most of my experience is. i've pretty much given up on trying to get into any kind of service company lol.

Did you talk to Chris or Scott? May have a better shot with Scott, but Chris is the Office Mgr right now.

BTW, USMCDEVIL got hired on and I don't think he had much experience at all.
Would you be willing to travel or relocate?
We need an Arkansas tech as well.

Seems like your company is always on the hire & has been through this whole bad economy-with a bunch of good techs out of jobs. My opinion (not worth much, I know) is that it ain't a company that techs want to stay with.

I'm a good tech and I have been here 3yrs.

Others have been here longer than me.

Maybe it's more like techs want a career in HVAC and want to go home at 5 everyday.
