I'm getting started in the HVACR field and would like some input on benefits/features of various Charging Scales, Recovery Units, and Vacuum Pumps.
Any recommendations of one brand and or size over another would be helpful.
My main conceration will be residential units.:couchhide:

If you don't have a fortune I would not spend it like I did, however cheap is not always better. I think it's Promax that has a nice recovery machine with high presure switch, not bad for around 650, The scale, well the metal one is nice but the plastic cased one goes up to 125 pounds and is dependable. For the tank, Our local has three sizes and the biggest and littlest are of little use, get the mid size and if your supply house offers the trade in you will be able to exchange when full and get paid cash for the old refer.. ...

I use a digital (tif) charging scale, a JB 7 cfm vacuum pump, a yellow jacket micron digital micron gauge, and a appion g5 recovery machine- also have a 30 lb. and 50 lb. recovery tank that I can exchange at my distb.
Have the yellow jacket "t" to fit on my vacuum pump so you don't need to use your gauses just the pump amd micron gauge , also would be good to have "2" two scharder core remover with acces fittings to remove your scharder core valves for faster vacuum- just MHP

I use a fish scale.
Robinair 15600 vacuum pump, IMHO JB is the best vacuum pump but robinair is a lil cheaper and still good quality.
Appion G5 recovery machine. With 2 50lb and 2 30lb.
I have a yellow jacket 69086 micron gauge. And also the micron gauge on the yellow jacket digital gauges.
And all the core removers and ball valves for vacuuming correctly. Its worth it to get YJ super evac kit. n But then get 2 more ball valves for hte side take offs on the schrader remover. This stuff adds up a lil bit. Bout 240 for YJ but you can get some c&d stuff for a little lower price. But IMHO well worht it to spend the money on a proper vacuum set up. Has saved me time.
