We started our first York "Mustang" This week....

Air-Cooled Screw Chiller without "ANY" Slide Valve(s) or charged element Valves of any kind.(TXV's, EEV's etc.)

Puuuuuuuuure' VSD Capacity control, It also has Sub-Cooled liquid down to 55°f "Without" heat exchanger.

Last readings was 85% capacity while loafing @ 172hz.
(100% would equal 200hz.

Honestly all, Looks like York has a winner here...

It was...and is the first one started....

And oil return is not going to be a problem...

They using an economizer and side loading the screw for subcooling?

Any refrigerant schematics or other interesting information
available?

If 200Hz is 100%, what is the low end Hz? Does it track lift in any way to keep enough torque to the motor, or perhaps rely on the drive setup? I assume (always gets me in trouble) it is a volts per hertz drive situation.

No printed literature on this puppy yet..Zip...Nada..
Yes uses part thread injection to sub-cool "The Tank"..
"The Tank" has a stepper valve on the inlet & discharge.
Internal compressor parts add up to a "Grand Total" of 11 pieces....
VSD uses a Vf ratio but it a velly-velly strange voltage...

Richard, you are messing me up....I'm an inch away from going back to residential work, and you intice me with what might be the world's first WORKING screw chiller. You know i must learn more about this dude. Can you hear a freight train over it? I assume it's a 22 machine, what is the max tonnage available?

Presently the compressors are eiher 100 or 120 tons each.
The one I was involved with was a 240 ton unit..
We set this one up for 100HZ on the low side, although I am told it will operate much lower..But we kinda' Wooshy down heah', and wanted to stay on the safe side...
Drive rotor spinning @ 9000RPM @ 100%..
