I had a rtu that was not working on the 2nd stage when i was checking the enery management program. I went over the building to check on the unit which is a 48tjd014 by carrier.
This is what I found after checking it's electrical. I never seen this yet in short career but both the low and high side were in a vacuum 30inches.

anyone ever run into this befor?

Seen it 1000s of times. Each time I pulled a system into a vacuum before charging it!! :)

if you ran compressor under low vacuum windings may be damaged. actually it cant ever reach 30" vacuum. only 29.9?"
someone pulled a vacuum and never made it back to charge it.

great idea but when he put his gauges on the unit he contaminated it with non condensables!

the unit was serviced by the guy found up on another jobs roof in the worse things found in a unit, atlest you know there is no leaks.
