BACnet/IP question

If I do an auto discovery with an NAE looking for BACnetIP devices, where is it searching? Do the BACnetIP devices have to be on the same subnet? behind the same firewall? I will be trying to discover an FX20 in the near future. I wanted to get some info on this subject before I buy the drivers for the FX20.

Way I understand it the whois is a broadcast packet so you can't cross network subnets without some BBMD routers.

Put the FX on the same network and you iwll be OK or use the BBMD option as mentioned by MaxBurn....

If you are refering to were they go in the NAE UI they will go under a BacNet intergration under the NAE no the fieldbus...
