It's pretty straightforward.
If it's the rack I think you are talking about , there is plenty of isolation.
You can shut 'em down for a while with no problems.
Not really sure what you are asking.
But I will say that, that oil is the worst . (on your hands I mean)

Ned,
basicly i would appreciate any of your experiences
and any precautions on these r-507 screw racks.
experiences with, carlyle, the Cem modules or anything else
that you can think of to Watch out For.
I am Going to Have my Journeyman Mechanic in 2 weeks replace all the oil and oil filters and all liquid and suction cores.
My experience with screw Machines are with Bitzer compressors and a older R-22 tyler screw machine in vons.

Are you changing oil for maint,or for problems?
I was working some a while back on one of the newer screws with the LON CEM (I think its called) and Comtrol.
We were having "dirty filter" fails .
Filters looked good , pressures good also. Turned out to be one of the transduc's was freaking out and making the module think it was losing oil pressure.
There are certain conditions the module needs to see to keep the comp on line. If any of the parameters are too far out of line the module times out.
The transducers can be verified by comparing the PSI to the volts and matching it to a chart (LON CEM guide).
The bad tranducer I was talking about would jump around (volts wise) and trick the module. You would have to stare at it for a while to make sure it maintains its readings (again comparing it to the chart)
Luckily I had an extra transduc from a comp we had changed the week before. The failure quit.
Maybe you can get the chart or better yet the mini manual for the LON CEM from the link absrbrtek posted .
It explains generally how the module operates and fails.
We also had some factory wiring issues in the control panel.( Damn HillPHOENIX :D)
That issue was 4-5 months ago and I've been breathing alot if freon lately so it's a little cloudy.
Other than that the rack is sweet. The variable speeds make quite the sounds don't they?
Hope that help at least a little.

Ned,
thanks for your reply.
Yes this would be a scheduled PM for this RACK.
This is a New customer and the rack is 3 years old.
I just recieved a P.O to perform all the work.
Field experience is priceless and this seems to be a really great tool( web site). I am new to the online thing so please be patient with some of my threads.
Thanks,

it is pretty straight forward with isolations that a journeyman can figure out.
I think that is the same rack the Super Targets have?
As far as carlisle compressors... You probobly already know this, but They don't like liquid AT ALL! Carefull...

sorry! I KNOW the carlisle, even screws are liquid prone more than usual to valve damage, but not sure of the carrier racks you spoke of. I did not read your initial post correctly!!

He's referring to Carlysles.
You'll be OK, just use good service procedures, print out the pdfs, and away you go.
