View Full Version : Is the Satellite MANUAL D more accurate than old style D
Alright got you hooked on the Satellite J, here's how it plays out from here. We have a SATELLITE Manual-D that is just perfect for your business, unless you are a Neanderthal who hates modern technology. We have some Defense Department technology we licensed from the Chinese (they offered the best pricing) we cannot really tell you about, but it sees through walls and of course roofs. Our advanced software designers can evaluate the duct system and tell you all its shortcomings. Then for a nominal fee, we can tell you exactly how to make it perfect.
There are already 200,000 of the smartest companies are already using this technology, although you have the opportunity to be the first adopters on the North American Continent. Don't be the last laggards to hang onto your horse-and-buggy technology!

I'd make this under a pseudonym if the board rules allowed it, maybe Alfred E.

Geese. I don't want to miss out. I think I'll start a Satellite Manual 'S'. Maybe an 'N' too. I might as well retire right now with all the money that will be poring in. Wanna bet I can do it faster and more accurately while I'm talking to you on the phone? Bet you a bushel of clams I can!

Satellite 1040 would be the program with the widest audience and the technology clearly exists. All the big shots in Chicago would be the first to stream line their tax filing from their boats! So why not hop on the band wagon today.
Then stop the ruse and come clean, you have 9 days left. No... I'm sorry, my apologies... :ghug:
You now have 24 hours to come clean on this thread before your account is closed and all posts are deleted.

Phil,
See Luskers post above you, once again, time to come clean. The residential forums are not the place to be holding your discussion.
Your discussion is welcome, your ruse and trolling is not.
Your account will now be closed and all posts deleted.

I believe this would be OK with Mr. Admin.

Why limit it to the PRO forum? We're talking software, here.
Us non-PRO devotees (for want of a better word) would like to hear (see) this resolved.

I think the First Thread on this subject by CoolGal " Satellite J is Better than Manual J" has been deleted. So her spaceship still flies?
I'm not totally against comparisons, but It would be nice to have some information instead of one liners from Coolgal. Accuracy is still a major concern, not a ballpark SqFt. I think she said Dave (dash) may have some information on the software, that I did not see on the one page BETA website anything more then a guess at how they produce load calculations. And the story continues....

I think we unprofessionals have no better option than to trust the pros to analyze this subject, if indeed a subject exists. If this is any better than a hoax, I hope a pro will post on this forum and satisfy our curiosity. I would ask them to do that as a favor to us... but with all the deception, obfuscation and trolling buy non-Cool, non-Gal, this may not even be close to a valid software product.
Just think about all the *important* parts of Manual J which are not available vis Google Earth. You can ask a user to input some of them, but still you have no hope of doing that room-by-room Manual J. And think about how the Manual J results flow into Manual S, Manual D and maybe others. The product as insinuated (it was not even described, as evasive as non-Cool, non-Gal was posting) does not even attempt to work with the full set of ACCA methods.
Best wishes -- Pstu

I am always willing to explore new products and tools, but this person has now put up a huge roadblock with me and many other pros. This roadblock will take considerable open and frank discussion before we will even consider the product.
What this fool did was set their product back instead of developing an interest by a huge spectrum of professionals that might benefit from their product.
A lot of drama here, what's up??

Not sure I would call it drama we just do not care to be lied to or have some fool attempt to play us for fools.
Not sure where you are on this but cool gal was first apparently not a woman (no big deal) but most importantly somehow represents this load calc program.
It then became belligerent that the site promoted ACCA approved load calculation software programs over its unknown product. It has now been banned and all post deleted by the powers that be.
I sent an e-mail to the company informing them what has occurred and suggested if they cared about their product they should contact the powers that be here and attempt to make amends.
Someone replied that I should have admin contact them; wrong answer not my place they can make the effort if it is important to them. The respondent has offered to provide me with a login and when I am assured they are not cool gal I will take them up on it.
I do not think deceit and subterfuge should be rewarded!

Do you know what is wrong with this post?
Nothing.
The whole reason most come here is to share info, converse about our trade and learn. About anything the affects and can improve this trade. If there is a better way to do something, show us. I'm not married to Man J, ACCA and everything else. But by consensus, that is what is generally used. Most authorities want a load calc done but they don't specify what specifically should be used, to the best of my knowledge.
Just like everything else, just prove that it is better, give us some facts, something to chew on. The Pro area is reserved for members of the trade to more freely discuss all things concerning the trade.
I for one, am very grateful to all the members here that have shared information over the years on this site.

Why not check it out, what could be the negative? I will be over the next week,if I find the time, getting very busy now ,as it is the season here.
I did check one home,a rental of ours that I did a Man J on ,and the result was the same tonnage, house built in 1976.
I must agree that if 10 people do a Man J ,you'll get several if not ten different answers, with only one being the most correct. Some errors, some different choices on the input.
Keep in mind that outdoor design conditions only apply for a small percentage of total hours out of the year, and the system is technically oversized the rest of the year. Plus selecting the correct size, following ACCA procedures ,often is 4 or 5 thousand btus more then the load calculation,as the next smaller tonnage would be undersized.
Additionally ,check out Wright J Mobile,it works on similar principles as this program.

Dash if it works great I do not see how it can but great if it does.
Like I stated before if phil had come here upfront and stated what he had and properly dealt with the site administrator things would have been fine.
Since this morning I have had several e-mails with phil and I will tell you professionalism is not a word I would associate with him.

That is it in a nutshell.
I have watched thses posts as an observer and now I must speak.
You guys always ban this guy(girl?) when he issuses the bet?
A lot of talk then you turn him off, shut him down.
I must say it does not say much for you that you cut off the talk when the challenge is issued. Why?
Here in Atlanta most guys would welcome a tool we could use from our truck or office to do sizing. Dash has said it works!
If the tool is faster and more accurate why not accept his/her challenge and find out. Why do you keep this from us? What is the point? Everyone knows the old J way, is a back into the answer method. Why can't we see the new stuff?
Just because clasical does not like this person, we cut him/her off? Is that how the site works? We don't like you so we censor you!
I say, Let Cool Gal show her stuff.

Actually, Dash didn't say it works.
He said on the one rental he did, it came out to the same tonnage.
Thats not saying it works. Because one load came out to the same tonnage. The latent sensible could have been off, but still show same tonnage.
I have watched thses posts as an observer and now I must speak. <snip>
Interesting... I think you are no more from Atlanta than I am from California... and I see you have trouble reading.

So, this makes four site user names now? How many emails to our mods and threats sent to Admin?
Sorry, but because of your insolence and disrespect to our membership base and to those names you drop in email as a threat to the guys that moderate and administrate this site there is simply no respect that can be afforded you and therefore you continue classify as a Troll. It’s sad that someone with the opportunities before you holds no value in those you pretend to assist and attempt to make fools of.
Ladies and Gentlemen... this is a troll, no more and no less and should be treated in such a manner as the site rules afford and the mods will have no mercy for your arrogance.

What Phil does not understand is how many people actually come to this site in our industry besides the average small business owner.
Many of the manufacturers stop by on a regular basis, the people he works for, he will have no credibility in this entire industry once they get wind of his immature antics.
