If I could give you any feedback on this, a couple of points stood out to me. JMHO.

1) They want ten years doing this kind of work. That's a long time, and a lot of expertise. It's not just an estimator, its really a full fledged, one-man-show project manager and designer.

2) We are talking about Fairbanks, and not fishing for crab on board the Cornelia Marie. This probably means they want someone to relocate to a very different environment. That should be worth something extra. At least, one would think.

3) Finally, the top of the range for all that experience and responsibility and a relocation to a distant place is....$75K? Really?

Is that what this amount of experience and responsibility is worth in Alaska? No wonder guys haul crab pots on the Bering Sea.

Wow.

What some areas might pay are different than others. The cost of living may be cheaper-here is what the average for that area is for a Estimator:

This is not my information-this is from an independent source.

Thanks.

Cost of living in Alaska is expensive. I was 100 miles away from Fairbanks in 1986-87.

This is the website that I used to find the average salary:
www.salary.com
Keyword: Estimator Zip Code: 99790 Title Chosen: Sr. Estimator

For more information about the cost of living here is the Fairbanks, AK Chamber of Commerce website:

http://www.fairbankschamber.org/live_work/relocation.html

I was simply stating that there are varying wages in different parts of the country due in part to the cost of living for that area. Some areas are more expensive to live than others. There was a comment posted that was in reference to the rate of pay. I just wanted to find some information regarding what the average wages for an estimator were.

I looked at that salary.com and it is way off, probally 40%. I looked at a cost of living calculator and it shows I must make 48% more to live in Fairbanks than in Kansas.
