Holy CRAP!!!
With an initial pressure drop like that, you may as well use a 1" Filtrete pleat!!
I could almost sell a complete system at that price! Especially if that is the dealers price.

IAQ is one of the most tossed around issues of the day. With a forecast of $4 billion in market value over the next 10-years, everybody who breathes it seems is marketing IAQ. And one of the most abused areas is filtration. What that advertisment tells you is that Merv 16 is the highest level for an air filter. Read that literally. For AN AIR FILTER. When you need real filtration, the MERV rating doesn't even exist. A good, well maintained electronic air cleaner will walk circles around any air filter with much less pressure drop and much less expense. We install an air filter for less than 1/3 of what that purchase price is and then you have to add in a 6-hour installation bill. Add in a few miscillaneous parts for the install and that puppy will cost more than many furnaces installed!! :eek2::eek2: So if you or your family reallly needs that level of filtration, there are much better and less expensive ways to achieve it from my experience. :limb:
