Ice maker

I have a 6 yr double door whirlpool with ice maker and water dispenser, Water dispencer side works but no water is getting to the ice maker. Checked where the plastic tubing for the water dispenser and ice maker is attached, disconnected plastic tube for ice maker and not a drip of water.Is this a common problem?

try to swap the 115volt plug from water valve coil to icemaker coil side and energized the water switch see if water fill the I.M. tray, if valve still work, your trouble is insided the I.M. little module.
