The question is a bit mis-questioned ( new word??? ) (news report ?)
.
There is no connection between filter/driers and ducts or
ductless systems.
If a split system is benefited by a filter/drier than
any split system will be.

The unit I am install is the Fujitsu mini-split ductless unit, on the install manual it said just run to pipe and connect electrical wiring, it does not show a filter and drier. I will finish the installation tomorrow.

What you have to remember is that on a lot of ductless split systems the metering device is in the outdoor section of the system. So the "little" line which runs to the indoor section is actually part of the evaporator. DO NOT put a liquid line filter drier in this line.

On systems like I just discribed the factory installs a filter of some sort in front of the metering device. So to answer your question more directly--No you should not install a dryer on a ductless split system.
