Can NAE and FX60's talk to each other natively (ie without using BAcnet)? Does the N2 client or server driver let them see each other as JCI devices, or are they only viewable to each other as BACnet devices?

I do not think so. I have not seen a NAE driver for any Johnson Controls FX controllers. The N2 is not directly routed to the ethernet.

niagara AX (FX 20/60) has an N2 client and an N2 server - I was told that the N2 server allows communication to NCM's. Any idea if this is true? What does the NAE use for communication to an ADX server? Proprietary of BacnetIP?

They would only be viewable as BACNet devices. The N2 driver is a field level protocol. It has nothing to do with how NAE's communicate to each other or how they would communicate to a 3rd party BACNet IP device such as an FX.

NAE's communicate to the ADS/ADX via the SOAP protocol not BACNet/IP.
