Just drill a hole in the compressor to drain the mineral oil and spray in r410a compatible WD40 - should be good to go. :rolleyes:
don't do it!!
you, your custmor, and everyone will be happier if you change out the condensor, coil, and reff. line. might as well up grade the furnace while you are at it. believe me you will be $ a head.

we have used honey...but u have to used the clover stuff higher quality

How old is the R22 system? Who's manufacturer is it? R410a is at much Higher operating pressures. My understanding of this is that some of the components in the old system may not be able to withstand the higher pressures. The old Carrier, systems with aluminum coils could rupture with the age fatigue. I would recommend that you replace the whole system, including the line-set to be sure. ( most installers like to be able to go home and sleep at night)
