One of our customers is a 250 room apartment building with water source heat pumps in each room. They used to have a guy on staff that repaired these while we took care of the cooling tower, rooftops and boilers. Well this guy quit and the head engineer quit. So now the new engineer wants to also work on the room units. We have no problem with this except this guy is an expert in everything or so he thinks. He wants to change some bad reversing valves on some of the units and he wants us to use HVAC Super Pro to connect the piping to the valves. I've heard of it but we have never used it. He's the customer so we will try this product but we have no idea where to get it. We are in central/south eastern Pa and I've tried United Refrigeration,Johnstone Supply and US Supply and none of them ever heard of it. Can someone tell me where to get it? Thanks

You may want to check your local codes. In some areas I believe brazing/soldering is required. I may well be mistaken but it would probably be worth checking IMOA.

I would not use this stuff. A supply house sold us some to try out. They tried it on 2 installs and both failed in about 2 or 3 months. They even made a loop out of some pipe and fittings and yes it held pressure, but when he started to flex it just a tiny bit it blew apart under pressure. So to fix the failed connection to the evap coil, we had to cut out the joints because the solder wouldn't bond.

Awesome, we're now using glue. I hope you run a n2 purge.
Oh, will you offer a warranty on the glued valve?

As I said in my original post the customer is a know it all,so we are all for using this product to teach him a lesson that contrary to popular myth the customer is not always right.

The problem with "know it alls" is document your usage to the Nth degree. When they fail.....YOU must have done something wrong using the product....take pictures of your prep etc.

When his higher ups ask what's going on with all the call back activity, I'm sure he will conveniently leave out that the job was done HIS way at HIS insistence.
I will be GLUED to my computer, waiting to hear the outcome.
FMI, Would a failed joint(WSHP) leak ref into occupied space?

write this clown a letter explaining that your company uses industry standard practies for brazing, outline your practices, and finally ask him to write you a procedure to use this stuff on company letterhead, and if he does, go for it! if he wont put it in writing, you shouldnt bite. you will own the problems.

I sent a letter to this guys boss explaining to him that we do not and will not stain our integrety by doing any thing against our standard practices, and that if this was the way they now wanted repairs to be made that they should consider another contractor. His response was basically do not listen to the building engineer as his days were numbered.Apparantly this engineer gets moved through out the company and causes problems where ever he goes but they don't get rid of him.He must have dirt on someone.
