I just today installed the smoke detectors on that M2. I've always liked Lennox, this seems good. Started up 3 weeks ago, purring like a kitten!
I call 1-800-367-6285, Good luck.

Im a word, monitoring.
This is the newest thing that is happening up here, and our newest trick store has it, too.
Any fault with the HVAC goes to the BX and alarms out.
Much nicer than being surprised when the HVAC doesn't come on.

The BX does set point command from HVAC Zone applications to the Lennox.
The Lennox does everything else and communicates back to the BX status.
It's not been talked about much but. Since the boys over in the controls section have a hard on for this. I will say it. CPC and Lennox both claim this was a LON protocol. This was supposed to be true plug and play. They claim that they were true LON. And it's not. And it's why they have had to re do the firmware several times to work the bugs out with their propitiatory respective controllers.
The initial releases of these systems, the glitches would basically cripple the system and the Lennox would just decide to run in default. Yet it was difficult to see what was truly happening because the comms were not jiving. You simply could not distinguish exactly where the hiccup was because you could not exactly see how the two were communicating.
I am a fan of both CPC and Lennox, but I am not happy with them saying their systems are "open" and they are not.

D i agree am a big fan of both but when you spend so much time trying to get it to work when they know themselfs its not going to work just come to an agreement just slap an 88plus board call it even

it's straight now. They got it solved. The firmware has been updated for over a year or better now. Maybe even 2 years ago.

I thought the purpose of this site was for mechanics to help each other, without being slammed, was I wrong?
I did install this system; first time I have come across Prodigy. No training yet.
thanks for the help.

I've spent a lot of time on hold with Lennox tech support to find solutions to problems that are not documented in the IOM for the Prodigy board. The tech support folks are hit and miss with support for this controller as well.
As I recall the USB drive detailed in the IOM is a Lennox drive but the question is valid, if I can use any USB drive off the shelf why use Lennox's? Next time I am at site I will try a generic USB key and let you know
