multiply tons by 3.516 if you want to convert tons to cooling capacity in kW
If you want to estimate power consumption then convert the tons to the actual Btu/hr and divide by the EER to estimate watts consumed, divide watts by 1000 to get kW power consumed.
Multiple the kWs by how many hours it runs and get kWh

Multiply tonnes by 12 to get BTU's in Thousands. Divide the answer by 3.415 to get watts by the thousand or KW. Their is 3.415 BTU in a Watt
