In all my years in the HVAC world i never thought I would run into a simple low vol. wiring problem but I am baffled. I have a Trane YCD075 roof top unit and am tryin to wire a trane non programmable zone sensor/ tsat to it but do not understand how to wire it to the teminal strip. I tried wiring it to the same terminals the programmable stat was wired to with no prevail. Also the wiring diagram on the door is destroyed... thanks a whole lot trane for putting the schematic on a door that recieves weather damage! Any help on this situation would be great.... THANKS!!!

i had one like this a few years ago..i dont remember how i wired it but i had to talk to trane ENGINEERS not just tech support. seems the directions they gave with sensor was FUBAR. My advice call trane.

the sensor is a baysen108a

You sure......can't seem to find anything close to that. The best I could find was a baysens018a

Witch board is in the unit Micro or Reliatel?

I don't have time this morning to research this, but I was under the impression that a YCD unit is a Precedent series, and has Reliatel. That would mean the poster is trying to connect to the same terminal strip along the edge of the boards where he found a conventional stat, and he should instead be using the strip for the trane zone sensor.

Maybe Jay will find this and correct me if I'm wrong.....

ycd mostly mostly voyager, but he's replacing a programmable zone sensor with a non programmable zone sensor, not a thermostat. just match the numbers on the zone sensor to the numbers on the terminal strip whether a voyager or a precedent.

nope.. i am attempting to replace a tran baysen019c with a trane baysen108a. as i am am not familiar with trane equipment this is my difficulty...from what i could get off of the rtu mod # ycd075c3 serial # r521007401. so i am not sure wether it is a reliatel or micro board. i know the board is numbered 1 through 20 the baysen019c is connected to terminals 7,8,11,12,14. the new stat has # 1-5. 1 being communication, 2 common, 3 mode, 4 coo, and 5 heat. when i connected the sensor to 1-5 (ex 1 to1 2 to 2 3 to 3....) nothing would happen ther than the blower motor would start.

What are the basic dimensions of the green circuit board?

If it's number 1-20, then it's mico-controls. It should be hooked up number for number. If you are only getting the fan to run, then there is something else going on.

Why were you changing the sensor?

the green circuit board is approx. 8x8. i am changing the sensor bc the programmable sensor that is on there isnt recognizing when it needs to call for heat or discontinue the call for heat. so either the heat is on or not, no comfort control at all.
