Looks like the president really does see himself as some sort of god; http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20100307/ap_on_bi_ge/us_health_care_leap_of_faith
President Barack Obama says he will persuade Congress to pass his health care overhaul even if it kills him and even if he has to ask deeply distrustful lawmakers to trust him on a promise the White House doesn't have the power to keep.Just what does the president have up his sleeve that the American people don't know about? Could it be a backing of a powerful and immensely wealthy coalition of Socialists who think they can buy the United States and are using President Obama as their snake oil selling salesman?
Some answers, however, rely more on faith than fact. Confronting party unrest on his left and right, Obama is calling for political courage, citing historic opportunities and essentially saying "trust me" in areas inherently murky, uncertain and out of his control.Why do we have to "trust" the president? What is it we don't know about? Why the mystic secrecy?
It's unclear whether Obama can keep such promises,...What promises has the president kept so far? The presidents vague promises of "hope and change" have not faired out very well so far, as we plummet deeper into debt and Americans continue to loose their jobs with no viable "hope" in sight. Just what is it the president expects us to "trust" him for? OH! I'm sorry, President Obama doesn't actually even want the trust of the American people, he just wants the trust of those in Congress who can get him what he wants. What next; Congressional leaders who blindly follow Caliph Obama will become the ruling emirs of their districts?
Obama is asking his party's House moderates to have a different kind of faith.Maybe this is the "change" President Obama is referring to. Maybe he isn't prone to a belief in Islam or Christianity. Maybe we are seeing the rise of Obamaism. When all a leader has left to tell the people he or she leads is to "trust" me and to have "faith", that leader has moved themselves into the realm of religion. Or, as this quote from the article may suggest, President Obama is nothing but a used car salesman who just is getting rid of all of the junkers that came to his lot from one of his last "trust me" programs;
"You've got to go out and sell that product and stop worrying about the process," said Rep. George Miller, D-Calif., chairman of the House Education and Labor Committee. "And the president is a very powerful salesman for that product."
