tube type infrared gas fired heater stainless steel construction, Radiant Systems out of NC makes a decent unit, just make sure you have needed clearance. Combustion air is piped from outdoors. Chemicals will eat anything else in 1 to 2 years.

We use direct fired 100% outside air unit on the truck washes we service. You also get the added benefit of summer ventilation to reduce mold in the wash.

You may want to consider in in-floor radiant heat. I’ve installed hydronic systems in several car washes that work fantastic. I would also suggest that you check out Schwank Infrared, they manufacture an excellent high and low intensity infrared heaters…

I service a Lochnivar Boiler for radiant ice melt. Covers the bays and about 8 foot on either side of entrance/exit. These are all open bay washes.
