right now we have a bunch of baboons who have taken over the kangaroo Supreme Court who are making decisions that will effect every American and will possibly destroy the lives of the last free citizens.
...i'm talking about the Supreme Court making rulings about the 2nd Amendment.
make no mistake, this is not about the 2nd Amendment, this is about whether or not the Bill of Rights applies to state governments.
that's right folks, we're hoping the Supreme Court feels like giving us our basic rights.
the 2nd Amendment can not be isolated from the Bill of Rights, the government either respects our rights or it doesn't.
citizens of the (near?) future are going to pay a heavy toll for the fact we have allowed the government to make a grey area out of our "inalienable" rights.
the media is labeling the current rulings as a victory for gun advocates, but it's not.
...since there's not a snowball's chance in hell the Supreme Court is going to strike down every gun law, the best we can hope for is to buy time for a while longer.
we are getting used to the idea the Supreme Court can wave their gavel and make life changing decisions like this, when the fact is the Supreme Court is only one of three equal powers of government, the President has a say in what the Constitution means and so do we through our representatives.
the sad fact is, the Supreme Court can not make a sound decision on this because the details were not completly ironed out by the founders of the nation.
the First Amendment clearly only limits "Congress", the 2nd Amendment refers to "the people", but the anti-rights people are trying to free state governments from the Bill of Rights.
if the Supreme Court rules the states/cities have the power to enact gun laws, then we will be left with our corrupt state governments that we have been ignoring for years and assuming it's the Federal government's job to control those politicians.
i was always OUR JOB to keep our state government clean and most people don't even know who their local politicians are.
the America of the 1780's and the America of today are not the same government, and therefor, the exact same rules can not apply.
we have allowed a giant Federal monstrosity to control every aspect of our lives.
back in the 1780's people only had to deal with their local government and didn't seem to be too concerned about the state government abusing basic rights.
they probably felt that if the state government was taking guns away, the public was too dumb to live in a free society.
today we have a society where the Federal government sends millions of dollars to the states and the state politicans do anything to get that money.
the problem is the Supreme Court has nothing to reference to for keeping the Bill of Rights as individual rights.
1) James Madison tried to make an Amendment forcing the Bill of Rights to apply to the states.
the idea was rejected because they felt it wasn't needed, and for other reasons.
2) (corrupt) Supreme Court Justice John Marshall said in an unrealted case that the Bill of Rights doesn't apply to the states.
the pro side
1) to pass the 14th Amendment the writers claimed they would apply the Bill of Rights to the states.
but if you read the 14 Amendment it has more to do with removing rights than it does protecting them.
the politicians of today want to ignore the 2nd Amendment part of this since they've found other ways of getting around rights
2) in Chisholm v. Georgia (1793) Supreme Court Justice John Jay ruled that Atricle 3 Section 2 of the Constitution gives the Supreme Court power to hear cases involving states and anything in the Constitution. (which it does)
unfortunatley, this case was overturned for unrealated reasons.
this resulted in the 11th Amendment.
the Federal government can not be trusted since it enacted the National Firearms Act and broke it's own rules.
if we have allowed the Federal government to grow large enough to effect our lives on a daily basis, and the Federal government ignores the basic rights from the Bill of Rights, then this is an evil hipocrisy.
if the Supreme Court says state and local governments have the power to ignore the 2nd Amendment then sooner or later we are going to have sweeping gun laws and government totalitarianism.
