There needs to be another poll option
Change the law so the USPS doesn't have a monopoly on regular mail. Then private companies will step in and deliver mail with far greater efficiency; driving costs down and improving service.

Shouldn't matter. They can lose your mortgage payment in 5 days just as quickly as in 6.

I can't believe we have so many that dont care. This thread is not about getting our junk mail.It is about cutting waste and reducing deficit,This is something we have 100's of threads about.

I agree with you on that point. It would help if they didn't get all those holidays off with pay as well!

this is just a simple *YES/NO* poll. if you want other options, start your own poll :det:
although I agree with your assessment.

Why should they get saturday off! I don't.
No really, it is a good idea to cut back saturday. It's a quick easy way to trim some cost's.

Be careful what you ask for, they could start charging for e-mail, its already being discussed

Never knew you had mail delivery on Saturday. Been over 40 years since they did here.

I could live without mail completely. We pay all our bills online. The stuff I want is in boxes and that comes UPS.
Yes, I can definitely live without mail on Saturday. If it wasn't for my wife, the stuff would just sit in my mailbox until the box got full.

In America your mail box is considered the property of the post office (yeah, even though you bought it). Nobody is allowed to place anything in it except the post office, under penalty of law. Change this law, and competition will make the postal system a gem to appreciate.
However I doubt it will happen, too many votes to loose if one supports something that makes sense. Given that it probably will not happen, my vote would be to stop mail delivery on Saturdays, and have the post offices open on Saturdays until 1:00 PM (that would be 4 hours here, as they open at 9:00 AM). That way, folks that work all week could go by on Saturday and do their postal business.

I doubt seriously it would ever happen... just one of those things that would not fly...

I want Sunday mail as well. I start getting nervous when I have to wait for my next Netflix delivery.

The government never stops anything that would affect their employees $. No matter how much they lose, or how deep in the red they go. If they stop Saturday delivery they probably would still want to pay them anyway.
