Hello,
I have a general repair cost question. I just got a quote for descaling my 5 yr. old Noritz tankless water heater for an "amount" :eek2: (this is in addition to the amount I just paid for a 'temporary' fix so that we could have hot water until they could come back and descale. It seems like for half the cost of a new unit I should just buy a new unit!! Does anyone have any experience with descaling?
Thank you!!
(ps, live in the bay area, CA)

You need to take your price out we do not talk or give price out hear every area is not the same. I could tell you it takes about 45min to hour and 3 gal white vinnager you can take it from there.

Just so you know pricing is not allowed in your post. You should probably delete it.

The vinegar works good. Do your have a filter before your tank?

I would buy a new unit. Descaling would clean it up just fine if you could do it yourself but I'd be concerned about what else is going to malfunction in the next couple years out of the warranty period.I think your just going to waste money on a"throw away" appliance. What is it worth to have hot water for the next 5 years trouble free?

Doesn't the owner manual have maintanence section? I would think there should be instruction there.
