Looking to rep a controls system in my area. I want an AX system and have looked at these three (Webs, Lynxspring, Facility Explorer). To the guys that know these systems well, please share the pros and cons that you see with each product. A have a building I want to pick up service on that has an existing Honeywell Webs system that has Honeywell LON controllers and a few Metesys controllers on an N2 link tied to a Jace.

Are there any problems using the Lynxspring or Johnson software to run the existing system and controllers?

I have no experience with WEBS or Lynxspring.

Facility Explorer

--FX Controllers--
Pros:
N2, BACnet, Lon (sort of?)
Local displays
Variety of controllers and expansion modules
Cons:
Configuration tool (FX Builder)

--LX Controllers--
no experience with these

--FX Supervisory Controllers (JACE)--
Pros:
Come with embedded Workbench and web u/i
N2 driver
Graphics predefined for HVACpro applications
This board has some folks that know the FX 20/40/60 very well
Cons:
JCI is always a version or two behind Tridium
JCI's "Jci Web Appliance"
Not all of the available JACEs are offered
Milwaukee isn't much help with these

Thanks for the input on Johnson. I was afraid they would not support the ax system well. I am leaning toward Lynxspring because they seem to have good support and are willing to explain things to you. They do not have the brand recognition the other two have but that may be a good thing.

I am biased.

Based on what I have seen (and if I could pick and choose to start out) I'd do both JCI FX line and Tridium. Take the JCI FX Training (not even close to the AX certification class) and get started with that then Go to the AX Cert class and you can pretty much handle anything you run into except the Big OEM stuff (CCN/Tracer etc) Even the OEM's are starting to play in the sand box with BACnet and LON to a greater degree every month.

But remember I already said I was biased.

Thanks for the input. I am still leaning toward Lynxspring as I see no real advantage to Johnson or Honeywell other than the name recognition.

I am pretty sure it is distech or rebranded distech.

We use Lynxspring and i have had no issues with them yet. They are quick on emails and tech support has always been able to help me.
