Dear all ,

I need to have some information regarding configuring the siemens PXC 200 ED (modular controller) . Actually what is PXC 200 series controller ?? Our project requirement is for around 300 I/O and i found out on siemens website that i need to go ahead with Siemens PXC 200 series controller . After searching on siemens website i did find the PXC 200 controller but it doesnt seem to have built in inputs just like the other PXC - 36 , 52 controller . Is this just a controller and we need to add Additional I/O on side of controller . how many maximum I/O we can add in one single row ???

Are these units priced at the same price that is being reflected in siemens website ???

Pls help as i am really new to this PXC series .....

I have attached some documents that might be helpful.

The I/O is separate from the "brains" of the controller. There are also some limitations for length and power on the I/O bus, and I'm pretty sure they're answered in the Owner's Manual.

Be aware that these products are only available through a Siemens BAS Branch office. The chances of them selling you the box only is slim on a good day. There is software and all that good stuff needed to actually configure and make it all work. If you're looking to put this controller on an existing site you may be able to find a used device on the internet. Other than that I would find your local branch office and see what you can do with them.

Good Luck,

I'm assuming that will be for more than one plant, or is it for just monitoring?

The point limits with TXIO are governed by many complex calcuations when you get to the upper range of the allowed points. For example the point mix can mean you need extra power modules or if you need to put it on more than one rail so will need extenders.

You can have more than one controller which will give you a bit of diversity so you could have 2 PXC100's for example.

Where are you based?

PXC200-E.D is a DESIGO part.
You will need to be in a country where DESIGO is supported.
You are correct, this is just the controller. You will also need Power Module(s) and TX-I/O modules. These do connect together on a DIN rail.
Each Power Module will source around 28W, and you can 'gang' up to 4 Power Modules together.

In order to configure/program the DESIGO controllers you will need the software tool (XWorks Plus). DESIGO applications are compiled and loaded into the controllers.
