I have a question about bringing in BACnet points in AX. I was wanting to know if you can somehow make the description of the point become the point name in AX? For example i am bringing in a point called exhaustfanenable_3, if you look at the description of the point its called "Exhaust Fan Enable". So instead of me renaming every point i bring in, it would simplify it if i could map that description to the point name i make. See picture for example.

I am not sure if that can be done, but keep in mind it is not a good idea to name points with spaces. It would be preferrable for your example to have Exhaust_Fan_Enable or ExhaustFanEnable.

I concur with lwarren.

I thought you were a Trane/BCU guy. Convert in progress?

Have you looked at buildinglogix for your chiller stuff?

Been awhile but couldn't you do a batch edit from exhaustfanenable to Exhaust Fan Enable?

What and leave the dark side? Our office has been using the lynxspring stuff for while now, just usually stick with our bread and butter.

Ninax, I jumped on the buildinglogix page but did not see any applications that were chiller specific. Do they have one you have used or seen?

qtip, that would be awesome if it were possible, anyone?

Are you talking before its discovered or after in AX?

"After" in AX is so easy its sick...use program services to do it.

I had a sales slick from them for their chiller app. They said it was built to mimic the Trane app. I went through our three chiller plant before theirs was ready for prime time. It may be worth a call?
