Hi everyone..

I'm new in this forum, and I've actually problem with my Echelon U10/U20 USB Network Interface, when I try to go online with E-Vision software 1.2, I always received this error message: Can't open network interface, please make sure the network card is present and you have the the driver loaded in your CONFIG.SYS file.

I've already test my Echelon U10/U20 USB Network Interface with the LonWorks Interface in windows XP control panel and it work fine...

Does anyone have or had the same problem???

Thanks in advance...

Not sure if this will help, for my Laptop I am using PCC-10 LONTalk card and have never had a problem with E-Vision, Rapid Balance or CARE for that matter.

Check your Card/USB settings under the Start Menu, Settings,Control Panel, Lon Works Plug & Play. Check that the NV SELECTION is correct for use with E-Vision. Either in my case I have to switch due to other Honeywell Aps between PCC10L7 and PCC10VNI. This needs to be done before opening E-Vision. Also check that your computer sees the card by usining the diagnostics tab located in LonWorks Plug and Play.

Hope this helps

Cheers

When I want to check my USB settings under the Start Menu, Settings,Control Panel, Lon Works Plug & Play, I always see this message: The registry key for the Network Interface could not be opened, You cannot modify the configuration settings until at least one Network Interface has been inserted and recognized by the system

With my old laptop, the PCC card work fine to, but with my new one, DELL Latitude D620, I bought the Echelon U10/U20 USB Network Interface for replacing the old card...

E-Vision uses the real mode drivers (originally loaded in the config.sys file)
these drivers were accessed directly by the E-Vision program
the last physical interface that had real mode support was the PCC-10 card

I think the newer drivers are virtual (handled by the abstraction layer of the OS)

If you actually get E-Vision to recognize a newer interface than the PCC-10 card please let me know

I'm sure that my ECHELON U10/U20 Usb Network Interface work fine in Windows XP SP2, but I cannot communicate with my E-Vision 1.2 Software. It doesn't recognize the Network Interface...

Anyone have an idea????

Doubt you will get it to work...not suported. get pcc10, at least it now works with rapid balance.

the whole e-vision - zone manager - care - thing is a cumbersome piece of crud

The PCC-10 card will not work with E-Vision, under Windows XP on my Dell D620. I use VMWare Player Windows 98 program to run E-Vision from within XP.

You have exactly the same setup that I want, E-Vision under Windows XP-Sp2 on my Dell D620, So, the PCC-10 card work fine under VMWare Player Windows 98???

Many people had test E-Vision under Windows 2000 and it work fine....I don't know what to do......

E-Vision uses the old config.sys file to load the device driver, it points to COM1. E-Vision will NOT connect to the PCMCIA or USB LON device. E-Vision will work under windows 98, not with XP. If anyone can get E-Vision to work with XP let us know how. I have worked with E-Vision from the start, back in the 1990's.

Yes it will work. I am using one. Goto the control panel and under lonworks plug and play you have to pick nspcc. Then it works fine. Just remember to set it back before using other software. Also be sure to shut off the niagara daemon if you are running ax on the same pc they do not like each other. I use the pcc-10 for all my lon stuff I have notes on my other pc as far as the plug and pray settings go if you need I can post em later.

Yep works with xp. i use it all of the time. You need the pcc-10 drivers and have the lw plug and play set to nspcc.

Does it work wth "E-Vision"? If it does I will try it tomorrow. I know the card works with XP, just never got to work with E-Vision. I use the PCC-10 card with rapid balance all the time.
Thanks for the responce

It must be my Dell D620 Laptop, I cannot get E-Vision to connect to the PCC-10 card under XP. I changed the "NI Application" from PCC10L7 to NSIPCC. I ran the Diag Test and card came back with no errors.

Does your config.sys have the following lines?

rem - Added by PCC/PCLTA-10 Install:
DEVICE=C:\LONWORKS\bin\LDVSTUB.SYS /D:PCCLON1
DEVICE=C:\LONWORKS\bin\LDVSTUB.SYS /D:PCCLON2
DEVICE=C:\LONWORKS\bin\LDVVDD.SYS /D1

Verify what version of the PCC-10 driver you are using. I have found with running E-Vision in WinXP that you must use this version (pcx10_20Win2k_Ver2.01_B) of the driver and not the latest and greatest.

Changing the driver to the older version did the trick.
Here is what I now use with my Dell D620:

config.sys file has the following line---- DEVICE=C:\LONWORKS\bin\LDVSTUB.SYS /D:PCCLON1

The PCC-10 driver I used is---- slta10_Win95_98_NT_2K_Ver1.04.002_A.exe

I checked rapid balance and is works just fine.

Thanks for all the help

T87F: The PCC-10 card will not work with E-Vision, under Windows XP on my Dell D620. I use VMWare Player Windows 98 program to run E-Vision from within XP.

How did you get E-Vision to work with VMWare? VMWare does not support PCMCIA emulation from host.
