Dear HVAC Gurus, here is my question...
Is there a residential T-stat capable of half degree settings?
In my car, built in Michigan, the HVAC control allows me to choose half degree Celsius settings. So for example I have it set at 22.5 degrees C.
However, I have not come across a residential T-stat that is capable of the same resolution. And if I'm not mistaken, even Carrier's vaunted Inifinity Control is not capable of doing this.
However, the T-stat in the boardroom at work is capable of a resolution of .1 degrees C and it is set at 22.3 degrees C.
Given that every degree Celsius is equivalent to almost two degrees Fahrenheit (1 C = 9/5 F) it would seem that a temperature swing of +/- 1 degree C would be close to a +/- 2 degree F swing. Not very comfortable no matter how good your furnace or air conditioner.
