To begin i went to school to get into HVAC and did really well in my classes I completed just about everything except 2 courses and have not took my NATE exam.

I have my universal EPA card and all that jazz. my problem is that I can not seem to get my foot in the door, when I was going to school and I hear people talk about how they can not get their foot in the door when they complete school. I have not been in school for over 2 years now and just got recently laid off my job. I was working a job that was paying me alot more than most places would pay an apprentice or an entry level HVAC tech. Now I want to get back into the swing of things and finish up my 2 courses and complete my NATE exam.

My question is how hard with this economy will it be for me to get an entry level position once I completed my certification including my ICE and get NATE certified. I really would like to get into HVAC but same time I don't want to waste my time and money on something that wont get me anywhere.

I really enjoyed going to HVAC classes and learning about everything and I have done very well and recieved a Dean's list at my local college. the only thing is against me is that i have no real world experience and it is difficult to get experience if i can't get my foot in the door.

I appriciate any constructive criticism that is out there. I really want to finish with my school now that i have time to finish my classes and I want to do something but same time I don't want to finish my time in school and find out that no one wants any one for entry level and I worked soo hard for nothing and my degree is the equivalence of an arts appreciation degree.

thank you for your reply

I am from Grenville SC (in the upstate area)

I will email or message those 2 to see if they know anyone is willing to take a chance on an entry level apprentice.
