The quotes for install of these are all in the same price range +/- $500. Anyone have any feedback as to which would be the way to go?
Amana GMVC95
Carrier 58MVC-606
Lennox G61V-070

thanks for the input everyone.

Seriously any of those will do great if properly installed. The first consideration is the people who design and install your system, and the service after the sale. The brand is a much smaller factor than the company you deal with, check out the company.

These ones I am looking at are all manufacturer cerfitied dealers with good rating in the BBB and good references in Homestars.com. Is going with a 3 stage carrier at around the same price as the others which are 2 stage a no brainer?

If you have a good gut feeling about the dealer Carrier sounds like a good choice.

The amana is a really a re-labeled goodman (distinctions line) - not that there's anything wrong with that.

If all the installers were as good as the next I would go with the Carrier. If it were a Lennox G71 it would be a toss up, but its not so there is no reason to worry about that.

I prefer to do an ENTIRE system when using Carriers Infinity line though. Gas + A/C or Heat Pump (hybrid heat).

Ii would go with the Amana. They have the best warranty in the industry. Including a Lifetime unit replacement warranty which means they are so proud of their seamless tubular heat exchanger that if it ever fails they will warranty the entire furnace! Not to mention all parts are under 10yr Parts warranty as long as you register it.

The LTUR for the exchanger is only on the AMV line, not the GMV. You do get a 10 yr UR / LT on the GMV, and the 10 year all parts. If registered online.

They are proud of their heat exchanger, and rightfully so. With that, going off what choices have been given i will have to recomend the Amana as well.

Good unit's.

Does the Carrier bid include an Infinity control?

Going with the Carrier. Best warranty and price of the three. And Carrier is offering a $300 rebate till end of January. Puts them well in the lead when compared to the other two. And with a 10 year Parts and Labor warranty, I dont have to worry about their infamous secondary heat exchanger.

Thanks again for the feedback everyone.

no, it doesnt include the infinity controller but the thermostat was just replaced 9 months ago with a honeywell procduct (not sure of model number). HVAC guy checked it out and said it was a good one and compatible with what I am looking for. If I was to go full bore with heat pump and humidifier etc, I may consider the initify controller at that time.

Won't control that 3 stage as well as the Infinity control would.
