Hey guys and gals,

I was wondering if you could help me out with something?

We have 4 hp air compressors at work, which heat up a room. The air just sits there. So, I was thinking of proposing a heat reclaim system and using the hot air in the room to heat up another room and/or our warehouse.

The compressors generate $44k worth of heat that just sits in the room (did the calculations), and replacing an air compressor will save us $15k in electric bills.

Anyways, I need to show why this is a worthy project, and am having trouble finding out how to do the math for how I could heat the big room and/or warehouse up. How should I go about this?

Thanks

Is this room against the warehouse? If so cut a hole up high and low. Put a fan in the hole that is high and louver in the one that is low. We did this at a furniture factory and man it works great. We have vfds that are controller by the room temp and when the inside space is too warm the fans kick on and dump any warm air outside.

We have an engineer and he figured everything out. You should hire an engineer, it might take him a day or two and the money spent on him would be paid for really fast if what you say is true about the electric bills.
