Yes !
But... it was several years ago at M3 rev. 1.0
My suggestion would be to replace the M3/CPN with an FX-20 and save yourself some headache.
If you're not in a hurry I may have some documentation on it .
Try the JCI web site for some techlit
Good Luck, you might need it.

Yes if you have any documentation it would be appretiated! Actually the cutomer that has the M3/Companion setup has ver.1 M3. You don't have a copy the the Ver. 1 disk do you? Thanks for any help you can give me.

Johnson still has the documentation online. From their TechLit page navigate to:
Metasys System / Software / M-Series Workstation / OPC Servers
Metasys System / Software / M-Series Workstation / Workstations / M3 Workstation

Even if I had a CD of the M3 it wouldn't do you much good. At best it would only work for 7 days on the temporary license. Check the JCI site, that is probably your best resource at this point.
If the customer does not have the CD but the system works don't break it. JCI will not replace the Software CD, but you can relicense it if you have the Original CD w/serial numbers. That costs money though.
Is the Companion a CPN201 or a CPNLTD ? An FX-20 will replace an CPN201 with less than 30 controllers, an FX-60 will handle anything the CPN201 has connected and MUCH more. Either a 20 or a 60 will more than handle a CPNLTD. See previous post for suggestion.

We have a customer where we installed M3 on a PC back in '04 with Windows 98. The PC dies and we replaced it in '05 and with Windows 2000. That on recently died and they gave us one with XP and we could not get to work. Customer decided not to throw anymore money at it and went another route. So even if you get everything you need, I'm not sure you will have too much success with XP - just our experience, but not necessarily the rule.

Go back to the hyperterminal link or replace it with a FX or NAE(here we go)...

Our customer solicited proposals and went with the NAE because a new facility next door has it.

If I remember right, there was a patch that you needed in order to make M3 fly correctly on XP. We have one system on a XP computer and no problems.
And I say this as I have to go find a M3 cd to reload on a fixed Win 2000 laptop, play the beg game to Johnson to get re-authorized...... I would just throw a 20 or 60 on and be done with the brain pain.
