I have a Hunter HB5000 Direct Vent Gas Baseboard Heater and the ignitor has burned out. The company "Hunter Technology, Inc." has gone out of business. I am looking to replace the ignitor with the original or a replacement model. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Dave

Check the internet, some of those companies had name changes or were bought up by someone else. Prepare to pay more than ya think it is worth too.

Armstrong uses the 601 in their furnaces. Not sure what the T means after it.

Look into a universal nitride hot surface ignition upgrade kit #21D64-1 from WR. The kit is only about $60 if it will work.

Try Johnstone supply, they have a bunch of universal ones, I think the T is the type of connector on it.

These heaters are awesome and everyone who knows about them loves them but can't find parts for them. Did you have any luck finding ignitors? If you did, I'd love to know where. Thanks in advance!

I would like to thank all that responded to my post.....Have eliminated the problem by putting in a central heating and air unit. A more even heat and less thermostats. Still have 4 units if anyone is interested.
Thanks again......

Hey Dave, I found a place that sells them online at http://www.bellparts.com/parts/dept.asp?dept_id=11. It's not exactly the same but it works. I had to splice my old leads on to the new part and drill a new hole to screw in the new ignitor but it's all good.

Hey Dave,
Target Wholesale in Canada has these ignitors in stock. You can call them at 1-800-648-5864. Use the same Hunter part number from the manual...p/n 921354...you're looking at around $45 and this is an exact replacement part...no modifications.
Cheers

I just acquired 2 HB10000 Hunter baseboard heaters. They are currently configured for NG...I need them to run off LP at my off-grid cabin. I'm hoping to find an orifice "conversion kit" to make the necessary changes. If someone has this item please respond.
Thanks in advance.

Hey geo27, check my reply below for info on Target Wholesale...they have a bunch of Hunter parts and as far as I know they are about the only ones who may have a conversion kit available. Should be a valve change (those White Rodgers valves weren't convertable), orifice changeout and a new label.
Good luck!
