This can't be good!!
Patience, it might take about a minute to load.

can't help but notice the rollout switch. did this have preignition in the burner venturi thus the RS didn't open until it was too late or was it actually rollout from ht xch and RS was not working?

what ended up happening was a service tech. lowered the LP gas valve to 3.5"wc thinking it was natural gas I assume. on top of that there was a leak coming between the gasket all the way around the gas valve. so sometimes the flames would roll back towards the gas valve cuz the burner was lazy and found its way to the leaky gas valve wich lit the wires all up. What you could see was the other 2 roll out switches on either side of the burner box, but the flames burnt all the insulation off the wires that go to the one roll out switch on the left side of the burner box and the wires ended up becoming exposed and touched eachother thus finally stopping the furnace because the 3 amp fuse popped. Thank God for those 3 amp fuses at least.

I thought Lp meant it would work a lower pressure HA HA

well as we can see if tec. can't tell LP from Nat., tec. needs to find another line of work!!

you'd think the pink "LP" on the regulator cap would've been a good clue.

That has to be a Junkitrol/Goodman. No other furnace manufacturer has ever experienced the same type of component failure. It can't be the technicians fault. There must have been lousy instructions. It shouldn't be so had to set up a furnace for LP. Shame, shame ,shame on you Goodman.

What orfaces are in it. It looks like a GMPN. The LP conversion kit for those came with #55 orfaces and 1.25mm orfaces in the box. I have found several with the #55's in them. They need to have the 1.25mm orfaces, usually numbered with a 12 on them.

There is also new burners available from Goodman for those that reduce ignition rollout.

As a rule of thumb. If I see screwdriver marks in the pressure reg. cap I will check the manifold pressure. That means someone messed with it.

Man, that's scary. Hate to think what might have happened if the flame stayed on the gas valve much longer.

Went on a call once. The gas heater was not heating enough. Wha???. It was an upflow old ass coleman I think. It had one round burner kinda like a stove top burner. Sure as ****zki the flame was kind a little. HO told me originally the furnace was NG. Then later was converted to Lp. Then later again back to NG. Only now it's not heating enough. I'm there Christmas Eve, dammit! I figured it out. Someone had left the burner orifice for Lp in the burner instead of changing it back to an orifice for NG. Well with a little math and some late night calculations I converted that orifice to handle NG. Worked like a champ after that. Oh yeah the regulater had been changed back to NG.

Good on ya Rushin... but we should make it habit to put the manometer on every furnace we visit. No acceptions. I've found Nat gas valves on L.P. furnaces from factory. Always a good idea to take the extra minute to check the inlet pressure too. Keeps things in perspective when you find factory mistakes. And as you originally stated... other were likely there before you. Some with training, some without.
