There are lots of reasons one might trip. Got anymore information than that?

Hey there Gibbo , Yes on the snow 1st white Christmas in a very longtime they say. So is this Frenchy something you know about? Does it have an economiser on it, is it a shell one or BPHE ?

Happy New Year to you also.

Don't know anything about this particular chiller but know the guy is in England and has posted on this site before about oil related problems on a 30GX but never came back to say what happened in the end.

With the chiller with the SST alarms does it have a 15,000 step EXV and what kind of econoomiser does it have if any ?

Where about in England is the site and which Carrier office are you dealing
with.
Check circuit at 100% load as close to setpoint as you can to verify
refrigerant charge and operation of EXV.
When you say it does it on start up is that only during the night or anytime.
How often does it alarm and are the alarm times similar.
The other circuit runs ok. Check it as well that will discount any water
problems.
From memory this chiller runs 24/7.
Try logging the chiller at low and full load.
1. Suction Pressure
2. Discharge Pressure
3. EXV % (open)
4. Discharge Superheat
5. Check oil heaters are working ok when compressor is off, with ambient
temps of 0-5 C you should be able to feel they are on and working.
6. Chilled water temp in and out.
7. Check all transducers and sensors are reading correctlyfor that circuit.

Good Luck

hi gibbo
the sites in nottingham and i think the office is birmingham, at the moment with the small chiller running and the low ambient the buildings are ok
with a bit of luck i want to get damion on site as he tells me he knows everything there is to know!

Gibbo

Damien should sort you out ok.
Yes Birmingham office covers your area now since they shut
down Warrington which is where Damien used to work out of.
Have you got a date for him to visit as the last i heard he was in Canary
Wharf in London doing some teardowns on some centrifs and likely to be
there for a while from what i hear. Failing that get hold of Graham Taylor
or Dave Pratt of Birmingham.

Hope it all goes well

Does the chiller have control of the chill water pumps?
