Once on a service call I was riding as a trainee with a lead technician . On a particular call we found a blown 3 amp [auto type] fuse in customers air handler. We couldnt find any problems so decided to change out the fuse. After an extensive search , we found out that we were fresh out of 3 amp fuses. My buddy decided to get the customer going temporarily by removing one of these fuses from my van. We "made sure" it wasnt something vital to the operation of the service vehicle.
Lights?.............Check!
Blinkers? ............Check!
Wipers?................Check!
Break lights?..........Check!
COOL , even the radio worked!!!!
MY partner went inside to complete the repair and I stayed in the van doing paperwork.
Mrs. customer pulls out of the garage not knowing we were parked in the driveway {we had to park in the driveway due to heavy traffic in busy street]
As shes making her way back on the long driveway , I cant help but notice that she seemed to be on a collision course with me. Yup! , here she comes.
But thats O.K. I'll just give her a friendly , warning honk to make my presence known..........No honk.......
She didnt find my story very amusing maybe 'cause of the damage to her car. But I learned something that day... and
we got the customer back on line, and thats all that matters .....right??????????
