I was just offered a job for the next 30 days. I'd be working 10 hours each day. The work is hard and the starting pay is not that great. The job starts at 1 cent for the first day and the pay is double each day (Day 1 = .01, day 2 = .02, day 3 = .04, and so on). I won't get paid until the end of the 30 days, but the money is all tax-free.

I don't have anything else to do this month. I am going to take the job!

I came up with $10,737,408.23 for the full 30 days work. Not to bad.

Is that old anecdote still going around? Last time I heard that was in grade school in the 70's...

Are you snowed in?

Mr. Makinice, I believe you shorted yourself $10, or a typo. I used Excel and came up with $10,737,418.23.

Here is another anecdote that old man spike :) probably knew of last century:

A sheet of paper is about .003 inches thick.
Tear the paper in half and put the two halve together (.006").
If you could continue to do this 30 times, you would have a stack of paper over 50 miles high.

Sorry bookworm, Prob. a typo. I figured it in my head so I guess I could be off alittle.
I'll let you keep the $10.00
