QUESTION 1
I just got an estimate to have central air installed in my home. It includes two options:
L-1. Lennox very high efficiency air conditioning condenser model XC15-24 (2 ton) and variable speed air handler model CBX32MV24/30. Rated at 16.2 SEER and 13.5 EER. Self diagnostic condenser and air handler controls. The variable speed air handler provides better dehumidification.
L-2. Lennox very high efficiency condenser model XC14-24 (2 ton) and air handler model CBX27UH-24 (2 ton). This is not a variable speed blower motor. Rated at 16 SEER and 13 EER.
The first is $ more than the second. Do you think its worth it?

The second question is for a high efficiency air cleaner. This is what it says:
1. Lennox very high efficiency air cleaner model HC-10 rated at MERV-10. Filter replacement normally done once a year costs approximately $.
$.
2. Lennox very high efficiency air cleaner model HC-16 rated at MERV-16, the highest in its class. Filter replacement normally done once a year costs approximately $.
$.
Do I really need the high efficiency air cleaner? Never had one before and never had any problems. And if I do, should I spring for the one that cost so much more every year?
