i can't seem to find a drain. on this water heater. curious how the tank is suppose to bne drained. there is a drain on the boiler pipes. I don't care to drain boiler just domestic.

I have the same water heater tank and was surprised to see no drain. The installer said that's the way they are. I guess given how the water is heated with the indirect coil suspended in the tank (Smart 60), sediment build up on the bottom of the tank is a non-issue.

It's a tank-in-tank design..no coil.
The cold inlet gets a T put on it and and a drawoff to pump/siphon the domestic side if need be.

You are absolutely right - I forgot.
Thanks Codyt for the Smart tank animation, I'd never seen that.
