Guys I've been around a long time and this looks like old type vent pipe used in the fifties when I was a young lad it probably vents a floor furnace

Nope. Attic mounted 80% gas furnace.

Looks like I better get my camera back out and take some pics. I think Frank has passed me as the leader of bad Texas install pics.
