Just stay away from the microwave in the breakroom.............. and take an apprentice everywhere you go! (Some folks have all the luck)

I'd steer clear of 4160 equipment too.

I was considerably short for my weight.

Dropping a few pounds really helped, and I was treated for A. Fib. at one point.

Just got a 3-wire myself. They told me to steer clear of large magnetic fields like a welder, plasma torch, antennas and cell towers etc. Large starters and large VFD's also. Sending in the apprentice first is never a bad idea.

A Defibrillator/Pacemaker combination has 3 leads. I think that they were talking 50 hp and above. After 4 months I am doing great and have had no problems. Haven't felt this good for a long time. 57 years old and started in this biz when I was 6 years helping my dad. I have had several procedures this year and the difibrillator/pacemaker was by far the easiest. Kind of cool when you go in for a tuneup. I do DDC controls and have tried to get the Doc to give me the frequency of the device so I could put it up on my demo site but they won't do it.

glad you're doing, and more importantly, feeling better.

Sounds like the time is ripe to move into that technical service advisors job that you've always wanted.

Our thoughts are with you, and prayers have already been lifted up on behalf of you and your family. Show someone how to get on here and start a thread so they can let us know how you're doin'.

so my worst fears seem to have been put asleep. i'll be out at least 6 weeks. thank God i bought aflac disability insurance.

Hello gents. I was able to drag the manf. rep. out to a job site today. A co-worker brought a gauss meter. In some of the internet info, the manufacturers want to limit exposure to 1 gauss. We fired off a pair of 500hp vilter single screws and loaded them to 80%. The gauss meter was pegged at over 20 g. between the machines. This thing in my chest has a 'wireless' transmitter, that when logged into their controller, has a range of 20+ ft. I was able to walk around the machines, and touch both motors, not a flinch on the controller.
Mashed the start on a cvhe710 and got it to 500a, same thing, all ok. Danced around several large motor contol centers, same results. Don't have any vfd's on site, and the nearby bldgs with freq's are shutdown. I'm good to go, once i get the dr's release, probably 1st week of dec.
Didn't have a buzz box on site to try out my new found velding skills :D
Can't wait to get back, going stir crazy being off, being limited to minimal arm movement.
