I found a leaking tube on the cond. barrolon a RTWA Trane chiller What is the propper way to plug the tube

me and our senior mechanic plugged one on a cvhf and we used a two piece brass plug that was tapered and used some thread locker from the auto parts supply house worked pretty good

How was the leaking tube discovered? By eddy current analysis? If you found it with a leak detector you should have an eddy current done immediately. I guarantee you that there are some more bad tubes which may not be leaking yet, but will soon.

I found it with a leak det. I have talked the owner into replacing the barrol Thanks for yalls help

Where is it leaking at? Internally or around the tube sheet. Just plug the tube if it's internal. Check this out http://www.tcwilson.com/heat_exchanger/tube_plugs/index.php If it's around the sheet, and you don't have experience re-tubing, find you a heat ex. service co. to help you out. Hope this can help.
