My furnace went this spring. So I decided to go with a Boiler based system Boderus wall mount 97% condensing. I am also in the process adding a new addition over a slab that was a screened porch this new room will get radiant heat from the floor. On top of this I get little to know air flow to my current family room which is over the garage so I figured that it would make sense to baseboard that as well as my new finished basement and a mini split for A/C. For the area of the house that use to get forced furnace air I replaced that with a First Co. hydonic air handler. Also I am going to be putting another First and Co variable speed hydro air systemthe attic that will heat and a/c the upstairs of my cape (I never was able to cool the upstairs) This upstairs unit via zoning will also cool the new addition and bring some auxilary heat down too, for the BTU's off of the radiant are only 9600 where the room calls for 25000. Also, just bought two new condensors 2.5 for upstairs and a 2ton for the lower part of my home.

?? I feel like I spending a ton of money over $k I could have used mini splits but my wife was not at all into the look. I may have saved $k by going that way. Did I go overboard? I stare at my boiler with all the valves and ask myself what did I get myself into. I would hope my bills will be lower with all of this hi-tec efficiency and zoning. We are just getting started the only thing done so far is the boiler is mounted to the wall (not working eventhough it is freezing and my hydro air handler runs. :eek2:
