Can it be possible on the compressor model number be the same gas/elect. an electric/elect.

Why couldn't it be the same compressor? One is gas heat, and the other is electric heat, right? Both units could have the same AC compressor!

can u determine by the compressor model number, if your furnace is gas/electric or elect./elect.?

I don't think that would be possible. The compressors could be the same exact size and model on each one!

By compressor what do you mean - the actual compressor component, or the unit itself?

The compressors can be the same but not the entire condensing unit.

This may sound overly simplified, but if all you are trying to determine is the fuel your furnace uses for heat. Try this: Is there a gas pipe going to into the furnace?
