Long story short - need to replace a furnace in a small space. Its in a closet. Closet is 38 inches wide by 23 deep. Its a downdraft. Current furnace is a Concord, installed going the wrong way - service panel is 8 inches from wall and can't be accessed.
Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.:nopity:

it might be better to install a heat pump

Why ??? TheHO still needs to move the AIR and needs to have either a furnace or Air handler to move the air, right ?

Move the panel to a more accessable place for easier access for yourself and you shouldn't have any problems finding a reputable contractor to find a furnace to fit the space depending on the BTU's needs to heat the space.

Not likely to find a furnace that will only be 23" deep. AN access panel or reconfigure the front of the closet (extend) so the furnace can be rotated 90* :worthless:

Ho probably feels that since the original equipment was in the closet might as well keep it there in the closet. You have the rest of your home to find a better more accessible place to install a furnace that would benefit all involved like maybe your garage, attic, or basement/crawl space or even a laundry room would be better than a closet !!!!
