There is a no DIY rule in place on this site. It doesn't personally bother me either way, I just want to remain a member here.

If you are in the trade (I think school counts) then apply for professional membership

It's free and there is a wealth of information to be shared away from the public's eye.

There are requirements posted somewhere here.

Now, for the reason that I posted what I did.

You are missing several key pieces of information, thus making you appear to be a DIYer.

No hard feelings?

I am glad to see that you are going to school, but this is not a DIY site. I dont know how the membership commitee adresses students when it comes to getting a pro membership, but Im sure someone can fill you in. Having said that, this site has a multitude of very smart individuals who are a tremendous source of information, as well as the educational forums!!! Find out how/if you can apply for a pro membership. Good luck:rules:

Students, are accepted as pro members. The proof/requirements they need is up to the membership committee(so I don't know what it is).

Sorry, this is not a DIY site. So we are not allowed to give out advise of this nature.

Since answering your question in the open Residential Forums would be posting instruction for DIYers that may read this post later.

If your in the trade, get your post count up to 15, and apply for Pro Membership.
Then use this link Apply for Pro Membership (http://hvac-talk.com/vbb/showthread.php?threadid=116113)

Once accepted, you have access to the pro tech forums. Where you can ask and get answers to technical questions.

Plus, you also have access to the Pro Educational Forums.

All of it is free.

With what you posted. No one knows if anything is wrong with the system your talking about.

Diagnostics requires information, which comes from checking ambients and measuring operating temps and pressures.

OD temp
ID DB temp
ID WB temp
Vapor pressure
Vapor line temp(the 2 vapor line readings tell you SH)
Head/liquid line pressure
Liquid line temp( the 2 liquid line readings tell you SC)
CFM over evap coil
Delta temp across evap coil
Delta across condenser coil
Are coils clean
What the customers complaint is

These are the things that you should be learning to check, along with what they mean/tell you.
