Hello All,

I just had a furnace tech come out and declare my furnace to be in good working order ...EXCEPT my draft inducer, which is chugging some extra amps as it is dying (sure makes it loud). I knew this last winter as well, but no more chances!

RHEEM CRITERION (gas furnace) - RGPJ-10EAMER (2001 model I believe)
They have a Jakel blower in there
117847-00 (J238-150-1533). Jakel is a Fasco name at this point so I contacted Fasco and they told me they hadn't sold that to Rheem since 2001. They did a cross-reference for me and came up with Fasco part A066 (70581406J) ....but guess what? That is not in Fasco's catalog anymore :(

So my question is ...can someone help me with a draft inducer that will work for my gas furnace? I imagine I could even do better with energy over the one I have.

1.71 amp/ 60hz / 120v / 3400rpm

Here is a link to what it looks like:

In fact ..that one in the link matches up alright with Jakel product code #1..but not #2 (listed above)

Any help will be appreciated.

Cheers!

Corganer.

Please read site rules. This is NOT a DIY site.

Your HVAC contractor can sell you and install for you the proper inducer for your furnace.
