I have narrowed my choice between the Trane XV95 and Rheem RGRL, but have a question.

Are they comparable in quality? In other words, am I comparing apples to apples?

The quotes received are from two well established companies that I feel comfortable doing buisness with.

They are both great furnaces but you are NOT comparing like furnaces.

The RGRL is 95% 2 stage but standard blower motor.

The XV95 is 95% 2 stage and variable speed motor.

If you want to compare like products, look at Rheem's RGRM instead. The RGRL should be less bucks but cost more electricity to run and without the benefits of VS blower.

Thank you for the helpful information. I will ask for a quote on the Rheem model you mentioned before making my final decision. Thanks.
